Position Objective:
The Operations Manager at Crosby Airpes is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all of the company's operations. The main objective is to ensure the efficiency, quality and profitability of operational activities, while meeting the strategic objectives of the organization. The Operations Manager works closely with other departments and teams to ensure effective coordination and successful execution of day-to-day operations.
All this, through the following actions:
- Ensure coordination between departments and effective internal communication to guarantee the proper manufacturing of parts and machines.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and HSE regulations.
- Guarantee that manufacturing processes meet all quality requirements specified by customers, technical validations, and internal procedures.
- Coordinate effectively between the OT and operational departments, overseeing the review and validation of designs, drawings, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with quality and functionality standards.
- Implement and oversee improvements in design and technical validation processes to enhance efficiency and reduce development time for new products and modifications.
- Ensure the achievement of the company’s strategic objectives.
- Optimize manufacturing operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- Lead the engineering team, implementing processes and ensuring lead time adherence.
- Assume technical responsibility for the designs being manufactured.
Functions of the job and tasks to be carried out:
HSE – Safety & Environment
- Ensure that all personnel under their command respect good environmental practices related to waste segregation, correct use of chemicals, efficient use of paper/toner, energy use and efficient driving.
- Respect and ensure respect for the rules of Occupational Risk Prevention and Health and Safety, namely: proper handling of machines, equipment, vehicles and tools, correct handling of chemical products, correct use of PPE as indicated in the corresponding risk assessments.
- Participate in the SSL issues that it deems necessary and in particular in those situations in which it detects dangers.
- Comply with the rules established in case of emergency in the workplace.
Production:
- Collaborate with the management team to establish operational strategies and objectives, ensuring their successful execution.
- Oversee and manage all production operations, including logistics, purchasing, inventory, and engineering.
- Continuously evaluate and improve operational processes and methods to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to minimize their impact on service and costs.
- Design and optimize plant layout, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources and workstations.
- Establish and enforce standardized production methods and performance controls.
- Select, train, and develop production operators to ensure competency and adherence to best practices.
- Ensure production costs align with budgeted targets while maintaining optimal inventory levels for finished goods and WIP.
- Lead and support cost reduction initiatives across all manufactured parts.
- Validate new part introductions by ensuring quality and production feasibility.
- Lead corrective actions for process deviations, non-conformities, and customer 8D corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and drive continuous improvement in all manufacturing functions.
Coordination of the Technical Office (OT):
- Supervise and approve designs created by the Technical Office.
- Ensure the integration of designs into manufacturing processes, optimizing resources and timelines.
- Lead regular OT meetings to review project status, address deviations, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage communication between TO and production to ensure smooth design implementation.
- Support TO introducing design improvements to enhance manufacturability and reduce costs.
- Ensure efficient use of design and software tools, promoting continuous training and innovation.
Operations:
- Manage the budget and ensure financial targets are met.
- Align production planning with company objectives and customer requirements.
- Implement Lean Management and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency.
- Control inventory, including WIP, in line with company objectives.
- Lead and support cost reduction initiatives.
- Manage daily operations, including production, logistics, purchasing, inventory, and engineering.
- Oversee and improve production, quality, and efficiency across all manufacturing stages.
- Reduce production costs and time.
- Ensure compliance with safety and HSE regulations in all operations.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and business partners.
- Implement safety and compliance measures to ensure a secure and regulated work environment.
- Actively participate in strategic planning, providing operational insights
Process:
- Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives for production efficiency.
- Identify and address bottlenecks in production to improve service and cost efficiency.
- Ensure the daily application of 5S principles.
- Maintain operational discipline and continuously improve production standards.
- Evaluate, develop, and implement processes to optimize manufacturing performance.
- Ensure production processes align with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 3834, and APQP4Wind standards.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly production performance analysis.
- Support S&OP activities, providing necessary data for informed business decisions.
- Lead and participate in improvement projects based on business needs.
- Implement corrective actions for quality deviations and non-conformities.
- Support 8D corrective action plans for customer-reported issues.
- Support the introduction of new part numbers, validating quality and production techniques.

- Lead and inspire the operations team, ensuring motivation and alignment with company objectives.

Skills, abilities and/or professional qualifications required:
Competency
A university degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, or similar is required.
English and Spanish languages are essential. Advanced English level (written, oral, and listening) with the ability to communicate in technical and business contexts.
Seniority level: Minimum of 5 years in similar leadership roles
Experience leading operations, production, logistics, and purchase teams.
Deep knowledge of best practices in operations management, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S tools and methodologies, and supply chain management.
Experience in cost of production management, inventory control, and P&L management.
Knowledge of PLM, SolidWorks, and CATIA with the ability to interpret technical drawings.
Advanced knowledge in Excel and O365 package.
