Job Title: Welding Coordinator Engineer
Reports To: Head of Engineering

Position Objective

The person designated by the company to be responsible for all measures concerning the quality of welding productions. Tasks range from assessing requirements and developing procedures, conducting welding work inspections, inspecting welded structures, to compiling delivery documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all standards set by the welding industry are met.
  • Follow all tasks and responsibilities under EN-ISO 14731.
  • Review requirements and verify product standards used by the design team.
  • Analyze drawings and engineering designs for welding feasibility.
  • Perform technical reviews of base materials, joint properties, and weld quality.
  • Define weld sequences, accessibility, and inspection requirements.
  • Ensure inclusion of welding procedures, work instructions, and environmental conditions in production plans.
  • Support engineering and purchasing in defining material specifications.
  • Manage welder certifications and ensure compliance.
  • Identify and correct non-conformances in collaboration with Quality.
  • Maintain documentation related to welding design, execution, and inspection.
  • Stop welding operations if risks or non-conformities are identified.
  • Develop and maintain welding process specifications and databases.
  • Verify and qualify welding procedures and post-weld heat treatments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • University degree or Higher Vocational Training Certificate (CFGS), preferably in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proficient in technical drawing and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding inspection or coordination roles.

Desirable:

  • Experience in programming and operating welding equipment.
  • Proficiency in additional languages.
  • Knowledge of welding machine maintenance.
  • Understanding of occupational hazards and safety measures.
  • Familiarity with emergency procedures in industrial environments.
  • Advanced level of English (spoken and written).
